Will the West End of London Keep Away The British Economic Downturn

With the Great British economic crisis really upon the businesses of London, could the city’s popular theatre productions keep the ticket sales coming in? Over in Broadway, the musicals are being hit with reduced ticket sales as more theatre goers are deciding to stay in rather than go out in town.

Tons of people, usually couples and families are staying in watching the latest blockbuster films than going out to watch a musical show. The Broadway theatre shows have responded quickly by putting down ticket prices to get theatre goers back, so far with fantastic results.

Infact, Shrek the Musical is offering a family musical ticket bundle of two adults paying entire price with up to 3 children attending the show for free. With the status of the Shrek films, the popularity has of course relayed to the Broadway adaptation.

Over in London, the ticket revenue have also registered a reduction. This downturn has caused tons of shows to monitor their profits even more. And with various theatre shows having costly stars, like Nicole Kidman and Jerry Springer, the theatre show businesses need to recoup this cost.

Luckily for London and of course the theatre productions there are reduced price ticket booths that allow musical lovers to purchase tickets for top musical shows at a fraction of the musical ticket face value. These famous musical ticket booths have registered a boom in sales since the downturn and this permits the theatre show lovers of London and its excellent visitors to be able to afford to purchase their favourite west end shows without spending too much money.

As the economic downturn continues, we will probably find that a variety of theatre productions will probably start to offer similar musical ticket deals to that of New York with family ticket bundles.

Even so, there are a few theatre productions that will stand the test of time – plays like Grease and Les Miserables have been around for loads of years and show no indicators of lower tickets sales.
